Iced coffee

The summer here in Czech Republic starts in late May, but temperature is only about 20°C. The real summer with boiling hot weather, however, begins in July and continues in August. During these months it’s good to spend time by the swimming pool, eating slices of watermelon and drinking cool beverages. I’ve been lately loving iced coffee – it’s quick, tasty and the ingredients can be found in every household. Check the recipe below.

You will need:

1 tsp. instant coffee (it’s important to use granuled coffee, not powdered)
1 tsp. sugar
220 ml water
2 to 5 ice cubes
shaker (or something like that – I use sport bottle and it works just fine, haha)
glass (I use capacity of 400 ml)
additional ice cubes (optional)
cinnamon (optional)

Grab your shaker and put in the coffee, sugar and ice cubes. Add water, close the lid and shake for a minute. The ice cubes will crush and melt and this way they’ll make the water nice and cool.
Now is the time you can put the additional ice cubes into the glass. Pour the content into the glass. It should make nice high froth. Add milk (the amount is up to you – I like my coffee more milky, so I top the glass up with it). Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and add a straw. Ready to be served!

Ice Coffee

You can see that this recipe is absolutely adaptable – You can add more coffee, or more sugar, or less milk,… According to your own taste. ;)

I am a girl in her twenties from Czech Republic. I study Italian and German at Masaryk University in Brno, where I live as well. I am obsessed with tea and vanilla ice cream, haha! I love books, blogging, Disney and of course my two adorable Rhodesian Ridgeback ladies.
