What I Love about Spring

Spring is not my most favourite season of the year, but yet I find it very pleasant. The nature is waking up from a long long sleep and everything seems suddenly alive. And it’s the transformation I am so fascinated by…

The days are much longer than they are in winter and there’s light outside when you wake up. This is very important to me, because it makes starting a new day much easier. Waking up in winter means waking up to darkness. It leaves me with the feeling it’s still night and I should be asleep, only that it’s 8 o’clock in the morning.

The sun is shining more and more and it’s starting to get warmer as well. I can enjoy my walks in a park again, which I’ve missed during the winter. I also love to hear the birds singing. It’s the type of sound that makes you smile somehow and your day gets immediately better.

I didn’t realise how much I’ve loved the sight of fresh grass growing. I walked home from school and I was passing a block of flats and in front of it there was a square of dirt with the fresh grass. It was so bright green and tiny and adorable in a way.
You can also notice first flowers growing, especially at parks. And not only wild flowers are to recognise, but also cut flowers in flower shops. My mum bought me a tiny flower in a glass to look after at the halls of residence and it makes the room so much brighter and a happier place.

The next thing I really appreciate after the winter’s gone is the change of wardrobe. I can wear skirts and lighter clothes again, not having to put on as much as possible so as not to freeze my bottom off. And that’s bringing to mind pastels. I love pastels, they seem so refreshing and cute. Especially pastel green, but I also love the blues, yellows and pinks. Orange is pretty as well.
I also love floral designs on clothing. And I noticed there’s a huge amount of yellow on women’s clothing lately, so maybe I’m going to please myself with a piece. :)

The last thing I wanted to mention, and it is probably the most important one, is that people are suddenly very happy. They greet you with a smile and are so nice to you, which makes you be nice to them and everybody is nice and happy and I love it. I don’t know if it’s only in spring or what, but I’d like it to be that way during all the seasons. It makes life so much better.

Have a beautiful day! oo

A Day with Me #2

Hi!  Spring is indeed coming, because it was sunny and warm today and the air smelled like grass. I made use of this opportunity and took off to a park for a walk. Of course I didn’t leave my camera behind. I snapped a few photos at the park and after that I went to the centre of the city. I visited the Square of Liberty and there was this cute group of young people playing a cello and three violins. They were really good, they played both classic and modern music, so I listened to it for a while. They I went to H&M to look around – I had in mind some pieces for spring. I ended up buying a denim jacket and two basic T-shirts (but both striped and I love stripes). And after that I headed back home. I must say it was a very relaxing day and that little walk in the sunshine made me feel so good…

Finding Dory | Watch with Me

Hi! Ever since Finding Dory came out, I was super excited to watch it. The first film, Finding Nemo, is such a classic and it’s so well made and it kind of represents my childhood. I love it. And so I knew I had to watch Finding Dory as well, as soon as possible.

And it would be convenient, I thought, to write a review for my blog, when I’m at it. At least that was the original plan, because then I decided not to write a review-review, but rather a first impression-watch with me-kind of review. I think it might be a little bit more interesting that way.

Spoiler alert: The film is gorgeous.

Another spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers caused by my first impression thoughts. Please be aware of that.

Bridget Jones’s Diary | Review

Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding

Published: 1996 (this edition in 2001)
Genre: Humour, romance, for women
My rating: 5/5
Goodreads rating: 3.74/5
Would read again: Yes

I wanted to read this book for a very long time, because I loved the films and it’s just a classic. In addition, I’ve heard great reviews about the books and Helen Fielding herself. I made a mind note Read this asap! and so when I got the first two volumes as Christmas presents, I opened the first one in excitement, making a New Year’s resolution read one book a month (or at least read more than I do now) at the same time. And so I brought it with me everywhere and read it when I had a chance – in public transport, during breaks between lectures or before going to sleep. And let me tell you, this book can pull you out of your daily depressions and low confidence moments really fast!

The Idea of a Perfect Sunday // On a Date

I previously wrote the perfect Sunday post, concentrating on alone time (you can read it here). But of course plenty of you (including me) have your significant other, who they love, admire and who they want to spend some quality time with. And sometimes it can be difficult to actually find time to be together, so you want to make sure the “program” of your date is enjoyable and unforgettable. And again I’ve come up with some ideas on what you could do on a date.

Note #1

Hi! Aren’t you excited about spring coming up? I am so ready for warmer weather and shining sun. I already took out my spring clothes and put away my winter coat and boots. It’s starting to get warmer and warmer here, which is good, because I was kind of tired of the freezing cold…

Anyway, to the purpose of this post – it happened again. I created a perfect schedule for my blog posts (I love schedules and stationery and this stuff…); I planned for two posts a week. At first it went well, but I didn’t realize that another semester has already started and that the studying would take a lot of my free time. So, I am forced to make it only one post a week. (And that means I have to reschedule, arrrgh.)

I enjoy blogging very much, so I’m not worried I’d stop for good. Actually, I have some exciting pieces I’d like to share – I was in Dresden at Primark last Friday, so I’ll be happy to post some hauly haul, maybe a lookbook as well, well see.

Have a wonderful day! oo
